I'm trying to figure out how to hand-color each of the 26 editions of my alphabet prints..... We made three plates so far (W,Y & B) - just for testing purposes - and I'm messing around with watercolor to find a good SIMPLE assembly line method for the application of color to each monochromatic print.

It's a good thing that my least favorite part of the process - the watercoloring - always seems to go faster than I anticipate. This is a drawing for the next group show at Adam Baumgold Gallery - "Roadworks". It's also going to be sold as a print by POVeditions.

I always thought it was so weird in Seattle that they called certain joining roads "arterioles." I'd never lived somewhere that called them that before - though I guess it makes sense. The first time I saw a road sign mentioning them joining I had no idea what the hell they were talking about. This is graphite underdrawing basically a continuation of some of the drawings I will have in the May 1 show - though this one will eventually make it's way into a print sold by POVeditions. It'll be mostly black and white, pen & ink bricks with occasional splashes of vivid color as cars (both crashed and mint condition) peek out behind the ribbons of road.

Sorry for the shiny ink glare in these photos - but per Renee's request - here are the adult and adolescent man-eating plants in the Alphaville drawing. They are obviously inspired by Frank Oz's awesome 1986, Little Shop of Horrors (based on the 1960 screenplay by Charles B. Griffith).
